Summary

Automated security management systems are offered to campus departments to assist in meeting Conditions of Access without undue work involved. One system automates the distribution of security patches from Microsoft, and the other the distribution of daily virus definition files from McAfee.

Features

  • No need to manage computers individually - both systems, once set up for computers in a department, will automatically manage keeping those computers up to date on Microsoft operating system patches/product updates and McAfee virus definition updates
  • Only critical Microsoft updates are automatically applied, larger files like service packs are not pushed automatically
  • The virus definition management system can also be used to push out emergency virus definition updates or pull back bad definition files if necessary
