Blackboard is an online learning management system. Many Illinois State University classes utilize Blackboard to deliver course materials and assignments to students over the Internet, as well as to conduct quizzes and tests.
Any faculty or staff member who wishes to create a Blackboard course may do so. All students whose instructor has put class materials into Blackboard will utilize the service.
Faculty and staff may request a Blackboard course to be created for them by visiting http://www.ctlt.ilstu.edu/resources/BlackboardCourseRequestForm.php. Students will be notified by their instructor if some of their course materials are available through Blackboard.
There is no charge to students, faculty or staff to use Blackboard.
Blackboard is generally available 24 x 7 x 365. Periodic maintenance is necessary and outages are announced and scheduled as far in advance as possible.
